As a instructor, student and professional I enjoy the challenge of balancing meaning, technique and creativity in the design process. My education has given me a diverse range of skills and knowledge that inform my professional work in costume design, as well as with companies such as 20 Cluny, Beacon accessories, Mesa menswear, Paloma Blanca bridal, and Bennet Custom Canvas. I teach courses in apparel pattern drafting and design, and illustration. My research interests include, finding emerging concepts in garment design, hand embroidery, women’s studies, body image, and androgyny.
