Meet the class ready to redefine Canadian fashion. 

 

The Ryerson School of Fashion aims to create change by inspiring and equipping graduates to lead a physically and emotionally sustainable fashion future. The curriculum and culture is shaped by our three guiding principles; heritage, diversity and innovation.

 

 

By the end of the program, fashion design and communication students will be able to contextualize the complex social role of fashion from the study of history and theory. An ability to think critically will allow students to identify and develop solutions to address issues related to Canadian and International fashion markets.

During studio time, students in communication and design are taught the necessary skills and techniques required to apply innovative and creative ideas to fashion in visual, written, and oral forms.

Students will learn to work collaboratively to develop professional and interpersonal skills through a variety of academic and industry experiences such as exchanges, internships, professional events, and competitions.

 

 

 

 

Ryerson’s MA Fashion program is the only graduate degree of its kind in Canada.

It examines the broader social, cultural, and economic implications of the production, marketing and consumption of fashion. Students electing to take this program will  become familiar with key theorists and debates relating to the fashion system, through the completion of both theoretical and creative projects.

Fashion matters as an area of business, as a part of culture, and as a stream of academia.
